2nd Hand shop Kreuzberg in a Old Movie Theater
From outside, this 2nd hand shop Kreuzberg looks like any other 2nd hand shops. If you look up on the facade though, you’ll see it’s covered with a fresco, with « Cinema » written. This Kino was called Prisma and displayed movies from 1949 to 1977. You can check old and new pictures on that site. You will enter some sort of vestibule, where there’s shoes with vintage party and wedding dresses, before you enter the main room, where the movie screen itself stands, with its big curtains at the end of the room and the large molding on the ceiling.
Weird Wedding Dresses and Cheap Fur Coats
That’s where the exploration truly starts. Checkpoint & Cinema sells mainly 2nd hand but also some new clothing, discontinued items. For men and women, from psychedelic chinos to comfy leggings, to unlikely party dresses, to fur coats, you can hardly leave without something. Prices are very reasonable, around 30€/80€ for a very warm coat, 10€/20€ for trousers, or from 2€ to 10€ for bags and accessories. There’s also 4 comfortable fitting rooms, which is pretty rare for a 2nd hand shop.
