Berlin Neighbourhood Guide
Berlin’s historic centre — Mitte is where high concept meets heritage, with flagship stores, gallery boutiques and curated vintage alongside iconic landmarks.
Mitte is the most polished of Berlin’s shopping destinations. Hackescher Markt and the surrounding Scheunenviertel are packed with independent labels, vintage galleries and design studios that have made this area a reference point for fashion-conscious visitors.
It’s a different energy from the raw East — more considered, more international — but no less interesting for those who know where to look.

Best Time to Visit
Weekday afternoons are quieter. Weekend mornings before the tourist crowds are ideal for the side streets around Hackescher Markt.
Getting There
S-Bahn to Hackescher Markt or U8 to Weinmeisterstrasse. Most shops are walkable from either stop.
Local Tips
The courtyards (Hofe) around Rosenthaler Strasse hide some of the best boutiques. Look for unmarked doorways and follow the locals.
Berlin has more to discover — each neighbourhood has its own vintage scene waiting to be explored.
