Berlin Neighbourhood Guide
Relaxed, residential and full of surprises — Prenzlauer Berg has a calm vintage scene that rewards those who take the time to explore its leafy side streets.
Once a centre of East Berlin’s underground culture, Prenzlauer Berg has evolved into one of the city’s most liveable — and shoppable — neighbourhoods. The vintage scene here is quieter than Neukölln but just as rewarding, spread across the streets around Helmholtzplatz and Mauerpark.
The famous Mauerpark flea market draws thousands every Sunday, but the real finds are in the permanent shops that line Kastanienallee and Oderberger Strasse year-round.
