Shop vibe
Small, personal, a little theatrical
Susan Baehr is a stylist, and Loretta is a stylist's shop rather than a reseller's. That distinction shows up on the rails, where nothing is there because it was cheap to acquire. It is there because she could picture it on someone.
The shop has been on Oderberger Strasse since around 2013, at the Mauerpark end, after earlier years on Husemannstrasse. It is small. You will have seen the whole thing in fifteen minutes, and that is fine, because the hit rate is high.
Womenswear, and the extravagant end of it. Glitter jackets, ruffled dresses, accessories, and a steady supply of one off pieces that are hard to categorise and easy to remember. Vintage and second hand mixed, across decades rather than within one.
If you are the person who owns three black coats and wants a fourth, this is not your shop. If you are the person looking for the thing you will still be asked about in two years, it is.
She takes clothing on consignment by arrangement, so this is a place to sell as well as buy. And she offers a paid Kleiderschrank Check, a wardrobe session, which is unusual for a shop this size and worth knowing about if you are stuck.
You want one memorable piece and you trust someone else's eye. You are dressing for something specific. You are already walking down Oderberger Strasse.
Skip it if you need basics or menswear.
