Sing Blackbird Verified listing

Looking for strong pieces from Italian or French labels of the 90's and early 2000s is one of the good reasons to stop at Sing Blackbird, a pioneering vintage and secondhand shop in Neukölln.

The edit sits in the 90s and the 2000s with some 80s. It's timeless enough to suit a lot of people, but each piece carries a detail that keeps it current: a cut, a material, or a twist. Diana doesn't chase trends; she has an aesthetic instead, a bit edgy, and she uses it to offer something other than the Berliner ready-made outfit. That said, the whole selection is very much on trend: that is called instinct.

For years, they sourced every single piece themselves, as long as they could. Today, most of the pieces come from professional consignors across Europe with whom they have built long-standing relationships. New pieces are added to the racks daily.

The Story

It took real strength of character to leave a comfortable job as an industrial engineer and open a secondhand shop in Neukölln in 2009. Back then the neighborhood was empty, and for some people, it was even a place you'd rather not walk through at night. That's exactly what Diana Durdic did, together with a friend who had moved over from Los Angeles. At the start there was also a cafe, as the sign above the door still shows. The café later closed to leave room for a richer selection.

How it is laid out

White walls, bright light, and the racks sorted by color, rather neutral at the moment. The stock is measured: not too much and not too little. A fair selection of shoes, bags, and sunglasses. Sizes run right across the range. There's a men's room too.

What you might like

A large selection of sophisticated dresses (backless, lace, asymmetrical...). Overall, a selection that leans towards figure-hugging cuts and defined silhouettes.
High street and designer hang on the same rails. Cop Copine, Marithe + Francois Girbaud, Plein Sud, Marc Jacobs, Anne Fontaine, Miss Sixty, Ice and Mustang on one side, then La Perla, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Miu Miu and Roberto Cavalli. The Italian pieces go fastest.
This autumn 2026 highlights include short jackets with a fur collar, real or not, cropped and fitted jackets, and buttoned shirts with details.

Practical

They open only in the afternoon. Prices are at the higher end of the Neukölln range, but you’re paying for a real selection of 90s and early 2000s labels in very good condition. Card payment only. They also accept consignments from the public, by appointment only.
