Where to sell Clothes in Berlin?

So, there’s a new season starting, and you are a good girl/guy. You know how bad it is for a peaceful mind to have this bunch of stuff you never wear. It’s too good to be thrown away, and you think you can get a little bit of money out of it. So, where and how to sell your clothes in Berlin?

You may need to consider what kind of clothes you have and if you’re willing to sell them yourself or not, which will lead you to several options.

Sell your clothes to 2nd hand and vintage stores in Berlin

There are many 2nd hand and vintage stores where you can sell your clothes in town. This is the best option if you have luxury and/or high-end fashion pieces and don’t want to sell them yourself. You can still bring along sophisticated items from Zara or H&M if you have them, but it’s not worth it if that’s all you have (see below for that case). Keep in mind that 2nd hand shops will take around 50% commission on a price that is already reduced, so … do the math.

Each store has its own style, so it’s important to figure out where you have the best chance to sell your garments. In the end, it’s always the staff who will say yes or no. In some places, you can just drop by the store with your bag, but it’s better to get in touch beforehand, by phone or email. Some shops work only by appointment, but even for the others, you might pop in at a busy time, or the shop may have temporarily stopped buying because they already have too much stock.

The commission they take is usually between 40% and 50%, and they’ll inform you when an item has been sold. It’s quite obvious, but let’s remind you that your clothes should be clean, in good condition, and it’s always a bit inconvenient if you’ve removed the brand label for scratchy reasons.
