Some vintage shops are for building a wardrobe. Diamond Freddie is for finding the thing you will wear to Sisyphos and then keep wearing for three summers because it turned out to be perfect. It is on Pfluegerstrasse, it is not big, and it is one of the more consistently likeable rooms in Reuterkiez.
The stock leans hard into techno, 90s and Y2K party wear, with enough odd one offs that two visits never look the same. Unisex in practice, whatever the rails technically say. Recent finds have included Girbaud, Tom Nixx and Jet Set.
The prices. This is one of the few places left in Neukoelln where you can pick up something genuinely strange and genuinely good without doing the mental arithmetic first. Nobody publishes figures, but the consistent line from people who shop here is that it is well priced, and the shop's reputation rests on that as much as on the stock.
It also means you can experiment. Buying a bright nylon jacket you are only sixty percent sure about is a different decision at this price level than at Mitte prices.
Monday to Saturday, midday to seven, closed Sunday. Cards accepted. Instagram is where new arrivals show up.
You are dressing for a weekend rather than an office. You want colour. You would rather buy three risky things than one safe one.
Skip it if you are after quiet minimal tailoring. Nothing here is quiet.
