New and recently updated vintage shops in Berlin

In short
  • This page lists the most recent additions and changes to the Dress Me Berlin index, newest first.
  • Entries are removed as often as they are added: a shop that closes leaves the index rather than sitting there wrong.
  • The last full re-check of every listing was carried out in 2026.
  • Changes are logged with a date so you can see how current the entry is.

Berlin loses vintage shops faster than most cities gain them. Rents move, leases end, and a shop that anchored a street for a decade becomes a phone repair counter. This page exists because a guide that only ever grows is a guide that is quietly lying to you.

What counts as new here?

Two things. A shop added to the index for the first time, and an existing entry re-verified after a material change: a move, a second location, a shift in what the shop actually stocks, or a change in opening hours. Both are dated, so a listing that says it was checked in 2026 really was.

Is Made in Berlin still open?

No. Made in Berlin, the big all-decades vintage shop on Neue Schönhauser Strasse in Mitte, has closed, and another retailer moved into the space in March 2024. It still shows up in search and in older guides, so it is worth saying plainly: there is no made in Berlin vintage shop left to visit. If what you liked was the broad rails at walk-in prices, the closest thing in the index today is V-Vintage in Friedrichshain, a few stops east, or Sing Blackbird in Neukölln. If you are already in Mitte, Das Neue Schwarz is the one shop the guide keeps there, at a very different price tier.

How is a shop verified?

Someone goes. That is the whole method, and it is the reason the index is 12 shops rather than 200. Before an entry is published or re-published, the address, opening hours and price tier are checked against the shop’s own site or Instagram, and the description is written from what was actually on the rails.

Why is the list so short?

Because it was cut on purpose. The guide previously covered sustainable fashion more broadly, including new clothing brands. It now covers vintage and second hand only. Shops that no longer fit that definition were removed rather than quietly rebranded, which is why the index shrank instead of growing.

The full index, sorted by price, is on the all shops page.

How to check a shop is still open

The most reliable signal is the shop’s own Instagram: a post in the last few weeks means someone is still opening the door. Beyond that, the Berlin tourism board keeps a current overview of shopping in the city, and berlin.de publishes the public holiday dates when Berlin retail closes almost entirely. Treat guide articles older than 2024 with suspicion: most of the outdated listings still circulating online trace back to them.
